Tsukubai Water Basin

The tsukubai is a basin for purification ahead of a tea ceremony or entering a temple. The name means to “crouch” or bend down in humility (see Wikipedia) so the basin is on the ground. The bamboo pipe provides the water and adds another sound of moving water to the garden.
