The blue squill, which naturalizes, is out in full force in the garden (and elsewhere in Jackson Park too). The fresh yellow growth on the arborvitae (I think--I still need a plant list) is a beautiful contrast.

It was chilly for the koi, so they were deep below the surface, glowing orange through the water.


The forsythia is out and yellow in a number of places in the garden.


I believe these are star magnolias. Earlier they looked like large pussy willows. They are just coming into bloom.


The buds are coming on the cherry trees around the Columbian Basin. It should be soon!
