The red Stewartsiana azaleas are starting to fade, but the "Miss Kim" Korean lilacs are just opening up and giving the garden their lilac perfume.

This spring, the garden is about three weeks ahead of its usual schedule of spring blooms. The yellow azaleas below the pavilion usually bloom later in the summer, but have decided to come out now to complement the pfitzer juniper's yellow leaves.

The red-flowering dogwood is fading but the red honeysuckle has come into full bloom west of the pavilion. Behind it, the towering bronze-leafed tree is a weeping beech.

Next to the red honeysuckle is the white honeysuckle, pruned low to the ground.

The woodland alcove has come into its own with variegated sage, epimedium, Japanese maples, dusty miller, pulmonaria, and the brightly colored plume of the bergenia.

The moon bridge has been repaired.

And the waterfall is on, making the resident mallards and koi happy.
